    CCcam.cfg on a card

I've always wondered if it is possible to insert the CCcam.cfg on a card (Wafer funcard) to be inserted into the slot
it would be convenient to use on multiple decoders without having the risk of use of more ip

It's a nice idea, but I don't know a software which can use this.

It could be usefull for receivers which don't connect to a laptop, but that means a completely difference to the actual cccam usage.
And the cccam update service is in deep standby at the moment.
But perhaps an idea for future.

      Re: CCcam.cfg on a card

I can't see the point in doing that.

Why you want to use a funcard when
you can directly edit the cccam.cfg from your pc ?

On the other hand, I think that this is impossible.

It could be a solution for those receivers, where clines can only be edited on the receiver.
That's very uncomfortable. A programable card could help a lot.

...and, impossible is nothing. A camd can comunicate with a card.

It is not impossible the problem is someone would have to write a separate line of code to match the funcard information with CCcam on the receiver itself, after all the card only sends data to the internal reader so it could be done but would not be easy

the utility which I think is that having such a cline available, can I use it on multiple decoders without the risk of having multiple connections and also leave the decoder "clean" without card

I know it is not easy for me at least that I know a little programming, but I guess the CCcam.cfg file can be read from the cam as if they were key ....

                Re: CCcam.cfg on a card

You can use this way when you can directly change the software of the cam-modul (big problem with specified ca-moduls, no problem with free moduls like multicrypt).
                Necessary for this purpose:

                1) send reset string to card (no problem)
                2) analyse the atr (answer to reset) from card
                3) if atr from normal card (nds, nagra, via, seca...) use the card for its normal purpose
                4) if atr from e.g. funcard, load cfg, prio...

                In this case, no problem

as I wrote before, and the idea I do not know how to actually .....
I understand that you could follow the pattern but from here to implement it ....

                    Re: CCcam.cfg on a card

I understand the advantages of updating a receiver with the card... but its a lot of work for something that its not that important.

In Portugal we had something called Netcard that was a card with an Ethernet port which worked as a full cccam and newcamd client. It was wonderful because it worked with any receiver! I think that project ended due to the new low cost receivers...
