Using flash drive or external hd fat32 should not have problems for a good recording, all the size limit of 4GB recordings, USB3 can use without problems detected as usb2. And there is more history on the subject.

Well, when you buy usb3 you can at least expect good data transfer rate.

            Right?

              [QUOTE=stu667;263180]Hello,

Which usb stick can be used with a vu+ solo for recording?

I tried with a standard usb 2 stick but it got weird after 30 minutes of recording.
I got stutter with pixaleting images.

better you shall use an external hard disk instead of usb

USB2 works fine with DM800. I use DCC to delete not wanted files and never had any problems.

SSD are expensive but defitely quicker than other supports in writing, so records are without problems.

I have used a 32Gb stick in my Spiderbox for over a year and never noticed any problems, even when I regularly delete stuff. I have just fitted a spare 160Gb HDD in a caddy and no problems so far.

a pendrive formatted in FAT32, there should be no problem to record at the end of the function as a removable hard disk, and enigma is able to mount the pendrive

If you have a NAS on your Network why not just use that instead?

That's what I have been doing for over 2 years with no trouble at all. Saves a lot on transferring movies one wants to keep as they are already there.

I use an internal HDD to run my images only and nothing more. Gave up with pen stick years ago because of compatibility issues and reliability. Getting E2 to see one is a major achjievement! They seem to have a mind of their own besides HDD is always going to be much faster coz it's on an internal Parallel bus as oposed to a pen stick that has to choke all its data down a single line using serial USB. 1/2/3 it's never going to compete with SATA.

                              Hello

I just got a 32gb usb stick and I want to use it for recording movies.
                              What format should I prefer?
                              Fat32, ntfs, Ext2 , Ext3?

Is there any difference on the speed between them?

                                hi kalpikos

A lot of receivers only accept fat32, afaik problem is recordings are cut into different pieces/files (little max size pro file I believe). If the usb-stick recognises it in ntfs, I suggest you try this format.

Why not try plug and play, maybe it works (good change it's already ntfs ex-factory).

ps: didn't had good experiences with usb-sticks until now, speed always too slow (needed fat32) - I prefer an hdd (also with problems now and then - probably also depends on the receiver itself).
