I am using a 9000 and I disconnect completely at night and usually my lines seem to connect within a couple of minutes, I am just using the free lines from here so if you are paying for them you should contact your supplier, try switching on your router a few minutes before you switch on the Stb and see if that might make a difference. There are no setting in the receiver to my knowledge that you can change.

It does sound like a server problem ,could try a free cline from here ,but strange how its only when you switch on at first.
Go into Menu /network/IP set up and make sure its set to auto.
Does your internet connect straight away can you browse on a pc while your waiting for sat box to connect.
Switch network off exit menu then go back into menu and switch network back on ,this might help prompt it to connect.

It should only take a few mins for everything to get up and running from switch on ,but good advice from Mobley is to get your router up and running before switching on the spiderbox.

A similar problem occurs in different models of satellite receivers, a problem solved by reinstalling the software

make sure your router has the latest soft on it - and if so, you can always try to re-install latest version (helped me some while ago).

Have you tested your lines with other receivers? If this works quickly, the problems are not the lines.
How do the free lines (e.g. from here) work or connect?
