requirements for setting up a cardsharing server

hey guys i am interested to know what is required to set up ur own server.

    i have a vu duo.
will i still be able to use my vu duo normally if i set it up as a server?
what other equipment will i need?
can i just rebroadcast a cline im paying for or will i have to actually have to pay for a satellite service?

    Thanks

    hi alankellyeire and welcome

have a look at eg: http://www.satlover.eu/forum/cardsha...t=%2Aserver%2A

further I suggest you do some reading/searching in the forum ; satlover clines may not be reshared anyway! If your paying cline is from somewhere else, you must ask there is resharing is allowed or not.

As pan1100 already wrote, no for satlover cline, ask for other servers.

It is possible, but be carefull. If you have too many clients (more than six) you can have freezes with your original card. I know a little private cs-network and they have tested it. Six clients were the highmark for freezefree watching (caid 1702).

If you have only one receiver with one card and give your lines free to reshare you will defenitly have problems with freezes. As I said, more than six users will cause problems.

True ... this limit applies if cc*am server is used.
When using os*am as a card server this limit is higher because of the caching feature.

Ohh I'm not so sure about this. The caching function is very usefull if many clients are using the same channel/cw. But if they use different cw in the same cw periode even oscam or newcamd will have problems.

I agree, but probability laws state the higher the clients number, the higher the chances some clients are watching the same channel.

Facts show that 20 clients can run smoothly on a 0919 (really slow n*s card).
Imagine with a faster card, or caids that allow a longer lag between ecm and dcw.
