    Re: smartphone/wifi/streaming

Everyone has the best soluction for you.
I have your same problem, and prefer a repeater. I'm using this: As*s wl-330n, very little, like a credit card, powered by usb, multifunction (repeater, 3G router, vonet bridge and other), so you can try different mode and choice. On plus is very cheap, about £25 on amaz*n.
    Ciao Roberto

I agree 100% and vonets is really bad be careful what you buy ,i spent a lot of money to find what works with the spiderbox.

yes the wifi bridge like vonets are used only if a wire cannot enter the room. no one can say that you can have same result with wifi. the ping is bigger, the signal is worst. 3G and 4G donge are going to be a future solution in my opinion.

You would need your laptop to put the security settings (WEP/WPA) of
your phone into the bridge so that it can connect to it.

thanks for all the advise but I don't have a computer at my caravan and the initial advise is to load the software from CD to computer which the bridge is connected to then change the bridge to the spiderbox the initial request was is it possible to go direct from my android phone (which i am using as a hotspot) direct to a spiderbox if not It looks like I would have to go via my laptop

You only need to use the laptop once to set the settings of the bridge to
that of your phone then your spiderbox will connect to your phone via
                  the wifi bridge.

Bro it works now,iam using a tenda 3g router and it works perfect no problems.
using wifi bridges not good ,wifi extender with ethernet port to connect direct to spiderbox is working good also for spiderbox owners.

                      Re: smartphone/wifi/streaming

many people use this solution, what i like to say is that in the future all receivers without wired internet will use the 3g-4g to do the job. wifi bridges are only for receivers like dm500 etc with no usb.

Yes i agree but we are talking mobile campers and caravans, all i can do is advise what works with spiderbox on remote locations via 3G or wifi hotspot ,the reason being we have actually done it and myself and friends have good working solutions. .
Try this try that is ok but what actually works good with a spiderbox ,we have all given our opinions its up to him now how he wants to proceed.

Good luck with getting it working bro .
