    smartphone/wifi/streaming

Having recently retired I am spending a lot of time at our static caravan
My setup at home is spiderbox using c lines through router.
My inquiry is at my caravan I am using my android galaxy note as a wifi hotspot which my laptop picks up and able to watch football streamed to my laptop from which I connect a hdmi lead to my TV so I can watch full screen.
Can anyone recommend a receiver with wifi that i could stream direct from my android to receiver or any method I could use to stream

If you're using a satellite dish at your static caravan , you could use your existing spiderbox with a wireless bridge which will allow your android connect to c line server . If you only want to stream from internet why not connect phone directly to tvhdmi using mhl micro usb adapter .

Satbeam give you the right way. I don't know if Spiderbox has a proper wifi bridge.
If you prefer a cable to plug the spiderbox, you can buy a repeater. Set the repeater with the same gatway that you have at home, connect the repeater to your smartphone through wireless, and the Spiderbox through cable. it'easy.
        Sorry for bad enghish.
        Ciao Roberto

what im not sure is how you can do the setting via wifi hotspot.

Yes, I would also not recommend streaming (you need a lot of bandwidth), rather using clines through wifi connection to your android hotspot.
Of course you need a dish on the roof of your caravan, that wouldn't be needed with streaming, but you will enjoy a better service, if your card server is good enough.

I haven't used one , but Vonets VAP11G wifi bridge for under £20 looks ideal . Enable wireless hotspot on your phone under network settings and you should be good to go .

                  in Step Two it say
Insert the CD into your pc so that the adapter can configure itself to your network i.e router.
so will he be able to configure the settings of the wifi bridge from wifi hotspot?

Before you buy a wifi bridge i have found that with the spiderbox i found it very unreliable with lots of drop offs and glitches when using c lines even with a strong signal

Reasons for drop offs and glitches are:
                      - bad hotspot (or)
                      - bad wifi client (or)
                      - bad cline
                      Nothing to do with spiderbox.
If you have a good cline, good internet connection, good wifi connection (my advice is for a good wifi router set in "client mode") your vision will be perfect.

I have tried a few different things with a spiderbox in the motorhome.
I tied a Vonets bridge total waste of money ,its to slow and glitching was bad.
Iam using a Tenda 3G611R+ 150Mbps 3g router ,with a 3g dongle on three network plugged into it,it works perfect, but you have to be on a good server with low ecm times as ping time can double through the 3G network.
Dongle into your router ethernet lead from router to spiderbox.
Other methods like vonets you have 3g lag time plus vonets wifi lag time = bad.
From the 3G you want to go straight to the box via ethernet cable ,believe me been there done it.
                        Check this post out

Hold on just remembered what my friend is using in his motorhome ,this just could be the ticket for you ,and it works perfect with spiderbox from wifi source
It also has ethernet socket so you can plug it straight into your spiderbox ,i have seen this working its great.

to use slingbox you need a very good upload speed were you place the slingbox and uncut internet to watch on any device any were in the word. in this case that will cost a lot of money to stream.

I had issues with my Vonets bridge and it eventually died after only 9 months use. Instead I bought an Edimax Range Extender/Access Point with 5-port switcher which works great for my Spiderbox, Raspbery Pii and Xbox 360. It was only a couple of quid more than the original Vonets bridge also.
