hope it ok ot ask here but one of the forum adds on the left (sat-multimedia-onlineshop) sell it for 220euro! did anyone found it cheaper? did someone got any receiver from this site?

Are you sure that's for the vu+ solo2? That seems more like the price for the vu+ solo.
The solo2 is a twin tuner and has only just been released.

I dont see any Vu Solo2 on that site for €220 i see it on plenty of other euro retailers for around €330

i went to the site to double check and now i cant find it also. i couldn't find the first page i saw after clinking at the forum ads and now the ads had change. i try to find the link from my internet history and get back at you.

I think i got it wrong i saw the VU+SOLO
Enigma2 HD Receiver for 135euro and the
VU+DUO Enigma2 HD Receiver for 220euro after and got me confused.

Looks like vu+ have done a driver update to enable transcoding. Just waiting for image update for this function according to the above thread.

Against my better judgement i have decided to plump for one of these and relegate my Uno to a spare room, although i still have concerns for the Tuner sensitivity i am now not that bothered as i recently upgraded my DrHD F15 to the DrHD Grand Triple which can literally blow any linux receiver out of the water for Blindscan and Tuner sensitivity/Fringe reception.

So the Solo2 will be for just watching TV solely and to see what all the fuss is about. LOL

how will you compare tuner sensitivity of the DrHD F15 DrHD Grand Triple and Solo2
are they close or not

I cannot compare anything at the moment as i dont have my solo2 but my Grandtriple walks all over the Uno so will have to see what the Solo2 has to offer

I have read somewhere else that the tuner sensitivity is almost the same. It looks like the have stayed with the same tuner.

I've seen pictures on another forum showing snr on a vu+ duo and vu+ solo2 on the same setup.
Solo2 was showing 99% whilst duo showed 88% on the same channel.
Not the best way of testing it I admit, but it's a good start.
Hope for a more thorough test soon.

I will be able to test the solo2 from Monday as mine has arrived and i will be collecting it from my supplier, then i shall have a few days to test all three on various satellites so the Solo2 will go up against he Uno and DrHD Grand Triple.

I believe Dreambox are already on the warpath and there response will be the new receiver codenamed 'Goliath' with a whole new operating system some rumours say it may be Android based, A little like what Vu's bigger brother is doing Marusys with the PrismCube which will run XBMC software. Linux and Enigma2 will eventually fade out

Just had an email from a Reliable Seller, UK stockists. They have got it in stock and selling it for £309 with free delivery or collection in store. Do you think this price is gonna come down after Christmas?

From another reliable seller it is £299 which i shall be collecting mine tomorrow, as for price reduction we shall have to see how sales do but last year i bought the Ultimo on release day and it set me back £529 and 3 months later sold for £350 which is what they retail for now. So who knows only the sales forcaster

Can you play mp4 movie-files (video avc, audio aac) with the vu+ solo2 from a connected usb-stick or hdd?
