    vu+ solo2 review.

I've put this in this section because there is no solo2 section as yet.
The review is done by backhole. Looks like vu+ have released a gem in the solo2.
News is that the transcoding function is in beta testing, so should be available soon.

Awesome speed and good internet integration, dual tuner (triple with usb stick), what more do you need???

Let's hope the fan is quiet enough

judging by the characteristics, quite good option of a satellite receiver, good design, attractive forward panel, budgetary price

Along with the gigablue quad and the forthcoming duo2, this represents the start of the next generation of stb. In the coming months and years I can see the developers taking advantage of the extra power and these boxes will have great new features added.
Vu+ is the market leader now in my opinion

Against my better judgement i have decided to plump for one of these and relegate my Uno to a spare room, although i still have concerns for the Tuner sensitivity i am now not that bothered as i recently upgraded my DrHD F15 to the DrHD Grand Triple which can literally blow any linux receiver out of the water for Blindscan and Tuner sensitivity/Fringe reception.

So the Solo2 will be for just watching TV solely and to see what all the fuss is about. LOL

No one can say anything about the tuner sensitivity. I wouldnt trust the supplier about any comments which are not tested yet. I will wait and see when people use and judge it and then put their reviews. Time will tell us.

I have literally had every make of Linux receiver including Technomate,VU+,Dreambox,Gigablue in all of the incarnations and not one of them as yet have proved to be as good as a closed source receiver for Blindscan and Fringe reception. I wont be buying the solo2 for this purpose as i can probably hazard a guess that the tuners will be good for medium to strong satellite reception

I have read early reports that the tuners are slightly more sensitive than the uno and ultimo, with the solo2 scanning in channels that neither the uno or ultimo did on the same setup.
It is written by one of the blackhole team though. Hopefully by the time I'm ready to buy there will be some more independent reviews available.

Take that with a pinch of salt its written by the Blackhole team who are on Vu's payroll so a little biased towards there product, only an independent real world analyses will do for me

I gathered that which is why I said I'm hoping for more indepindent reviews.
We should start getting some opinions within the next few days as I've heard they're starting to ship them out now.
Where have you bought yours from digi?
