Amiko hd8200 wifi adapter problem??

Hi Guys,

Im new here and hoping to become a regular and with a bit of luck a contributor over time;-)

I bought an amiko hd 8200 today, working fine ....

One problem, i got the wifi usb dongle to use the box wireless, im trying but it just wont connect or even find my wifi ?

Its currently scanning (ap scanning) but cant find my wifi network which is working fine as im sitting in the same room typing this now using it lol

Are the amiko usb wifi sticks crap? Or is there something i must be missing??

Try connecting the usb dongle to your pc rather than the amiko, configure the dongle and then use it on the amiko.

Thanks Arbiter, connected the Wireless USB Adapter to the pc, nothing happened, cant access it from there...

Its an amiko one, the guy in the shop today said 'just plug it in' and scan for networks, which ive tried.....

I wonder if ive been sold a dud....

I dont think so, i think it is more human error on my part.

I have a fairly good wifi signal so it shouldnt be an issue

why do things always have to get complicated lol

Amiko dongle use Realtek RT5370 chipset.
Go to realtek website and download correct driver for windows (or linux) to use it on your pc.
After do that scan for network, if you cannot find anyone probably you have a faulty dongle. Go to the store and change it.

Are you trying to connect to a 3g router ?does your router require a network key to connect to it,with the vonets bridge i had to set it up on my pc and enter the network key for the router ,then when it was plugged into the sat box it was ready to connect.

Your wifi stick scans for device with sky f3 box you have to load latest patch before it works correctly ,just trying to give some idea's.

Go to lavtronics forum as other people with the same problem will be asking questions there,perhaps its faulty.

you must have got a manual and drivers for the usb dongle telling you how to set it up?

the lan connexion is ok for amiko receiver? did you test it?
