password and username wrong

I am trying to fix missing channels on my DM500 but everytime I try to upload from the dreambox I get an error for wrong password and username. Does anyone have a video or password or username. Thanks

The default username is root and password is dreambox.
Do these work?

or you could try root and root this is also very common on images? what image are you using?

with what program have you tried?check in program settings user and password,maybe is written wrong

often admin or administrator is used as default username, also for password or blank.

Sometimes the password is: 0000 or 1111 or 1234 in combination with username admin (on a few images). If none of the suggestions above work, you may need another image.

Image is very important ! Some have completely different password ...

Default password for root is "dreambox" for the DM56x0, DM500 and DM7000 boxes.

For all other boxes there is NO password.

No, it not the default "dreambox", i try it. Any way to bypass it so i can connect with WinSCP? Or any other way to connect that does not required password?

Re-flash your box with this same image or other with known password

Not my work but from another forum see if it helps you.

- Install and run TuxBox Commander plugin

- Change directory to edit /var/etc/passwd (type 4: "Edit")

- Remove the encrypted password.
In the file /etc/passwd is the line:
root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh
or something as
root:EIfidfjeSAEFKEOlasdf5ewr3rWEW:0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh
The password field is the x or the encrypted string
EIfidfjeSAEFKEOlasdf5ewr3rWEW
Delete the x or the whole string. The line now is:
root::0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh

- Save the file and exit

- Telnet to your DB with root user without password

- Change/Create immediately a new root password with password

if you have instaled _TS. panel serch one aplication wic reset default password but i think after you must change the pass. because some one have acces in to the box, may be from ner

If the image you installed is a pre-built image with everything inside it ready to go then i would assume the author of the Backup image could have password protected it, i siggest you look at where you downloaded the image from and search for the password there

No, if you don't know root password there is no way to connect via telnet, ftp or ssh.

You have only two options:
- reflash (loosing all of your config data);
- install a plugin via remote control that reset password (there are many, ****** and choose one).
