    hi

    some tips/info:
    - see this thread I started some months ago: _http://www.satlover.eu/forum/satellite-discussion-english/43163-what-to-receive-on-which-sat-interesting-sats.html
    - about foot: ****** what's 'live on sat' and check what league is the most interesting for you
    - about ***** check with king of sats or lyngsat (and search for '*****' )
    - with clines a lot of channels will be open on lots of sats
    - only problem can be that on the most popular sats, the freelines will be very busy/overloaded

Why not get a monoblock and get both. I have monoblock with both and then 28e on the third port of my disecq. i have a 60cm dish for the european sats, 1 cable going to a splitter (must have dc pass thru) then 2 cables going to a 4 way disecq these go into ports 1 & 2 on 4way disecq & 28e on another dish which feeds into port 3.

Best thing is to get a motor with a 90-100 cm dish. motors move from sat to sat pretty quick nowadays and you have so much more choice. It's also future proof should any new sats pop up.
If you don't want a motor get a td88 or an orbital and you could get 28e, 19e, 13e and maybe even get 9e as well. triax dishes have multi lnb holders as well which makes it much easier.
But I would always recommend a motor. It works out cheaper than getting another 3 or 4 lnb's as well.

            hi

fyi: I have one of them visiosats (Astra 1, 2, 3 and Hotbird) and am very pleased - as said, I intend to go for a motor, but this won't be for the next few months.

When you have two dishes, a good solution may be 5° + 13° on one and 19,2° + 28,2° on the second (if you have a Diseqc 1.0 switch or higher). I think this gives you a big
              choice of whatever you want.

I agree with bokkie, going Motorized is the best way to go. I started with one dish for 13E + 19.2E and a 19.2E Sky Dish, then when some channels moved from 19.2E to 1W rather than getting another fixed dish or LNB, I went Motorized from 45E to 45W and have never looked back. MOTORISED always the best way to go my friend!

What are you scared of, installing or using a motorised system?
If you want to install it yourself there are loads of tutorials on the net, and plenty of help on this forum.
If you did go motorised you'd never look back.

this was my set-up a few years ago, best to go motorised. 7 sats on 2 dishes, what a waste of time.

Never a waste of time Toby a motorised is great no doubt but it can never compete with the ultimate Channel changing speed of a Multi-LNB setup, bets to have both i know i do. :-)

                          hi digicon

I only can agree 100%with you - ref. my post #6: besides my Visiosat (multi 4 sats) I intend to install a motor - so both would be the best solution!
Personally I think it can be a good solution to start simple ...

If you're serious about a multi lnb setup you could always go for one of those toroidal monsters.
Think I read about someone who had 16 lnb's over a 40 degree arc on a wave frontier t90.
But it does work out expensive.

I have three receivers on my multisat-dish (4 sats with diseqc). OK, with a motor you can receive more sats but with only one receiver. A big disadvantage for me. And the changing speed, as said before, is much faster.

@ Toby: By the way, how long does your motor need to change from outer left to the other side?
