As title says, I'm looking for reasonably priced receiver with 7day sky EPG. I'm totally new to this satellite box stuff, but as far as I know not all boxes have an EPG function?

Re: Looking for cheap receiver with 7day sky EPG
Hi and welcome to the forum.
Depends on your definition of reasonably priced. Gigablue, vu+, dm800 can all be had for around the £140-£170 mark and have full 7 day epg.
If you want twin tuner you have the vu+ duo, gigablue quad or the upcoming vu+ solo2 for around the £270-£350 mark.
There are recivers like the openbox and eaglebox for about £50, but they don't have a 7 day epg. -
Re: Looking for cheap receiver with 7day sky EPG
for me the openbox is the ideal solution, no need to spend a lot of money for options you rarely need. if you want than all options and perfect quality buy an original dm 8000 and you are at the top of the top, the only minimum problem os that that costs 800 us dollarsComment

Openbox doesn't have full 7 day epg. Need vu+, dm, gigablue, xtrend, etc for that.Comment

Re: Looking for cheap receiver with 7day sky EPG
Out of the Closed source receivers and non linux then the Blade7000 and TM5402Hd both have full 7 day EPG systems and can be had for anything between £110-£140Comment

Re: Looking for cheap receiver with 7day sky EPG
It depends on how much you want to spend and if you want dual tuner or single tuner good suggestions have been bokkie and digicon.
Make a wish list of what you want your sat receiver to be able to do and the max price you want to pay.Liked my post then push the sigpic button.Comment

The openbox at £50 is a great starter box but like it has been said no full epg the tm5402 hd has a full sky epg and is around £120Comment

Re: Looking for cheap receiver with 7day sky EPG
It depends on what you furthermore in future want to do with the receiver. If you want cs, streaming etc. it's better to spend a bit more money. When you see what more is possible than epg you will get hungry very fast...If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment

Re: Looking for cheap receiver with 7day sky EPG
thst the place where you really appreciate an open source linux receiver. If you spend more money you get more functions in your receiver. There are also some nice plug ins available for many open source receivers which will show you 7 Days EPG. TM has sensitive tuners but they are just getting outdated and loosing support. If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Thank youComment
