will skybox F3 do the job?

hi i have a dm500s and a dm7000 and after 3 years just paying and enjoying the goods that dm500 offer me (the dm7000 was unplug) im trying to get an idea whats going on. like to get channels from hotbird and mostly Greece etc.
Friends have told me that in 2013 the Greek channels will only be aviable on HD receivers. if that true will skybox F3 do the job? i never saw one were i live but the specs and price look good. Any other receivers near 100euros-120$ to search for my needs?

I don't think so, not possible in this price range.

All the openbox/skybox will receive HD channels for you. Most of the cheap receivers are capable of 1080i and some of them are even 1080p. Skybox F3 will definitely do the job. It costs about £50.

You could also look at gigablue or vu+ solo as possible options. Might be slightly more expensive, but they're great receivers and linux enigma 2.
Openbox will do the job though

You should get the Skybox F3 it will do the job also the support from users for this sat receiver is growing therefore any problems you might get you will be able to get answers to fix them.

vu+ solo sounds great but it cost double than skybox F3, i will search for a used one near the price i can pay but those i found so far cost 200euros.

I wouldnt buy a used box without any warranty unless you know the person and can contact him in case something goes wrong. Wait until you can afford a new and genuine box. Til then have fun with your Skybox F3, they cost only around £50 or 60 Euros.

The vu+ solo2 will be released in 3 weeks, so you might see a drop in price of the solo. Hang around and see what happens if you really want one.
I have a vu+ duo and it really is a great stb.

Yes i can wait, anyway i didnt see any change so far for all the channels to go HD they just adding a double one in HD but they also let the other. As far for a used box i never regret getting one in half price when the seller says "like new" etc. Save me a lot of money so far.

Hi!,

I bought a Skybox F3, I like the box for its price.

It has better performance and picture quality than my DM500S.

But there is some big problems with it,

Teletext subtitles is not working correctly, the timing they are displayed is not correct.
Sometimes you barely see them as they just flash quickly or sometimes they hang forever.
And they also use a really ugly font.

It has heat problem, so when it gets overheated it starts to either reboots or you get distortions flickering orange/red lines and dots in the picture.

I will try to install a small computer fan inside it and see if that will fix the overheat problem.

You are also only able to store 3000 tv channels, sounds a lot but easily filled if you are going to recieve from multiple satellites.

Also a bit hard to maintain the channels, scan a satellite for new channels.

The other problem would be EPG. It shows only recent and next program so you cannot do schedule recording. There is another box out in the same price Openbox X3 which can store 50,000 channels which I think are more than enough.
But All these boxes are just good enough to watch Basic HD TV.

Much better than the eaglebox fantastic value for the money ,ok it might lack support in the future ,put a C:line /N:line in it and your watching the Hd ch's the same as anyother box what else do you want for £50 ,its worth it for the media player alone ,even the really cheap Eaglebox for £40 right now works great with a N:line but cccam is crap in it.
I have a mini Eaglebox in the van ,its tiny with built in cooling fan ,is so small i built it on to the back of a flat panel tv ,short hdmi and pwr from tv so i can just lift the lot in and out.

To be able to help you, please give us some more info: is your internet connection ok? Do the fta channels work (so: is your setup/dish ok?) Did you enter the cline, do you get connection to the server? Did you try with other clines ....

Everything is fine thanks dish,connection,set up got all fta channels just the others am a bit of a novice what is cline confused lol help
