Re: Red button
hi
I have no black panther, nor db, nor VU+ ...
But think probably is the same as the boxes I know: first make sure you have the 'subchannels' scanned into your box (see eg king of sats or lyngsat - they're mostly on the same TP as the main channel, but with another sid) - normally you only can find them during broadcasting. Once the channels are there, you'll have 2 options to see them: 1) go to the channel (rcu) or 2) depends on the brand/type of stb, but in general there's an 'option' button on the rcu with which you can zap quickly between the 'underchannels'.
Hope you understand my explanation and it works out!
Is something's not clear, please ask!
edited: just tested the F1 channels:
- on Astra 1 (sly ger): 'underchannels' working fine (with option button = without zapping)
- on Astra 2 (sly uk): didn't work out (or perhaps I was too late - race just finished ...) -
Re: Red button
thanks a bunch! What i actually found, is that those sub-channels are scanned without a name but with numbers, for example on sky uk i had sky F1HD and then 2916 and so on...lots and lots of those channels scanned, very difficult to find my Bayern game today...Comment

Re: Red button
not sure, but do you mean on astra 1?
for the footy I always look at what's 'live on sat' ;
as said: on king of sats you'll mostly find how the subchannels are named (right: on sly uk often the names are numbers as 3837 or 3838 ; on sly de mostly 'correct' channel names are used).
I watched 'my' Bayern game yesterday ; if you mean Leverkusen: I just checked on king of sats: plenty of options (depending of the sats you have/receive) - good luck!Comment

Re: Red button
The red button won't work unless you have a proper sky card and you scan for a network instead of all transponder. if you do a satellite scan or a blind scan instead of a network all the red button channels are scanned as no name and they can be found in the last just flicking through.for some of the red button channels you need your telephone line to be connected to the box.If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Re: Red button
Thats the rule for watching sly legally in the UK. A valid card and a telephone line if you want to get the most out of the Red Button. Although the lack of telephone line doesn't make it illegal but you wont be able to take part in competition and quizes with red button. If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Re: Red button
Is far as I know (and informed earlier) there's no legal way to get sky uk when you live outside the uk ...
But back to topic: do I get it right that in sky uk there's only the red button option by phone (= pay!) and not for 'free' as with eg sky germany and with an 'option button'?Comment

Re: Red button
Brits have properties across the continent. They use their UK address to get the card and then use it abroad.
All the red button options are not pay. Like BBC Red Button, Sky Red Button is also free which gives you interactive news and didderent screens but If you want to participate in a quiz or answer questions then you have to press Red Button which is connected via telephone line.If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Re: Red button
Are the different screens effective other channels (as I presumed in my posts above?), so we can tune on them (giving me some sids can be usefull for me to test later on + confirmation there's something on)?
PS: sadly, I don't have properties abroadComment

Re: Red button
The different screens will only appear at certain times, like for Formula 1, they will show ther other racers profiles. In the news, there will be 4 or 6 different sections with weather, business, sports etc... some people like to have a look at the red button during the Football match for some more info or highlights.
BBC Olympic channels were all on Red Button, they are gone now.If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Thank youComment
