LAN RJ45 from a Sat receiver to WLAN?

    Hello,

I've a big problem in my living-room with my lan-cable from the sat-reviever (DBox2) and I want to change this RJ45-Cable to WLan. Has anyone an idea how this can be (simple) realised?

    Thanks...

    Wireless access point/bridge.

    Or Homeplugs?

Have a look at the Vonets or Tenda wireless solution for your problem, Both work very good for wilreless dongles

Any router should work with your decoder, although I have read about some people having problems with Virg*n Superhub.

Are you having a problem? If so it would help if you were more specific, starting with which receiver and router you have.

My Problem is the WAF and that I have a second (older) WLAN Router. Is it possible to use this as an access point?

WIFI router is a WIFI access point with ability to route Ip-traffic.
So if you already have a wireless network and you want to connect your box to it, you have 2 choices
              - look at the back of your box, and if you have a usb port you may try to connect usb wifi adapter there; sometimes it work; I'd look for forum of your receiver owners to find out what dongle guarantee to work with your box
              - you may try to get a wifi router which is possible to work as wifi adapter, then connect your box via ethernet to this router; I know for sure that some routers can work this way, for example dlink dwl 900+AP

I will try the second choise. I think I have to configure and test with the older WLanRouter. It's very urgend because my WAF is very low with a cable through the room...

                  Hi Marian,

                  Yes you can.

Log onto old router with your computer and disable DHCP.

Set old router's IP address to one outside the range set by DHCP of the router you want to connect to.

Unplug old router from computer and connect to receiver with ethernet cable to an LAN port, not the WAN port.
