Should you forward a port or not.

I dont know about you but i believe it makes a big difference to forward ports in your router for the servers you wish to connect to.

I wonder how many members who use the free servers might find things a little better if they set up a port for server 4,iam not an expert but i found things better after doing it.

Also in most routers you have the UPnP option (plug and play) which auto connects to the correct port for your device Xbox sat receiver etc ,its worth checking that this option is enabled.

You only need to forward ports on your router to let others to connect to your server. If you are planning to connect as a client to server over internet, like satlover's servers you may stop thinking about port forwarding.
About UPnP. It's unusable for cardsharing needs. If you raise UPnP server (to share some multimedia content) on your local network and decide to share it over internet, you will need to enable UPnP feature on your router to let it automatically assign port range for such a traffic.

I understand what your saying its just that i have read other conflicting views ,yes it should'nt be necessary and my spiderbox connects just fine without port forwarding,Cccam in the Eagle box is a pig to connect and after forwarding a port for it all seems much better and it connects much easier in fact its never worked as good.

Thanks for the information as i said i know little of this subject and i suppose it wont really matter if i have a port open which seems to help the eagebox.
