Camping and 3g dongles

When we are away in the camper we watch free sat ,is there any way to connect a spiderbox via a 3g router and 3 connect dongle .
I have been thinking and i know with the lap top i have to hit connect on the on screen dialog box for connection .
Would a 3g router log on to 3 connect which a sat box cant do on screen ,or is there anyway to be mobile in this fashion.

The freesat gets boring with all the ads they do my box in.

I have used an edimax 3g router and huawei dongle on my vu+ duo.
With a good 3g signal, it should be ok.

Iam still thinking,what about power a battery one would be no good ,can they plug into spiderbox usb to power them .

Right thats good its possible what about my 3 connect dongle would it connect by its self?

If 3G signal is poor you can always extend dongle to outside with usb extension cable .

Yes, thats a good suggestion from satbeam. I use the same technicque to get my neighbour's WiFi signal in France. Connect the WiFi dongle with an extension lead.
With the EE technology or 4G everything is everywhere so hopefully signal wont be a problem.

Yes its a very good suggestion i will do that,but iam still concerned if my 3 connect dongle will auto connect onto the 3 network?

Btw guys there is also a way to have 3g internet for free Samba mobile will supply a sim for £5 postage and packaging ,to build credit you watch ads in a background window,or multi widows to build fast,but you can also build your credit on your home pc ,then when you go mobile its all there for you.
I got mine a couple of months ago it is free to go online with it and you dont get much for free these days.

My next question is say i built up 100mb of credit for a weekend would that be enough to keep a spiderbox connected for 2 or 3 nights sorry for all the questions but iam going into the unknown.

100 mb would be more than enough for 2 or 3 nights.

Re 2 or 3 days of 3G , Giffgaff sim will only cost 20p for up to 20 MB per day , if you don't manage to watch enough ads .

Talk mobile is another option which gives you 24 hours browsing for 25p which is about 25mb. So lets say your 4 days TV will be only £1. Hopefully you can catch a few sats. Can sly beat that? Never!

All these sims are fine if you are using them in the UK only. As soon as you cross the channel and get into Europe you start getting charged per MB which is very expensive.
Vodaphone, O2 and Three mobile has started a new service for Europe travellers to use data roaming for £3 per day (Vodafone), £1.99 per 25 mb (O2) and £5 per day (Three3).
The usual costs are 59.9p per 1mb.

there are plug-ins you can get that, allow you plug dongle directly into box

Really anyone know what they are and where to get them??

Your Spiderbox will be different to a dm800se and azbox.
I know that there are some plugins on certain images on my vu+ that support this.
Not sure if there are any plugins that'll allow you to plug the dongle straight into your stb or not. Probably best to ask that question in the spiderbox section.
Best bet is a 3g router and dongle.

As spiderbox is a closed souce linux box therefore it will be difficult to install any third party plug-ins on it. It's firmware will have everything built in like other closed source linux box i.e, openbox and skybox.

Right so its got to be a 3 g router to go with my 3 connect dongle.
Iam looking at this one ,it can take power from usb and seems a good price.
