A question about installing for multi room watching

This week i will be installing a motorized system for a friend.
He wants to have a spiderbox in the lounge and another in his sons room so they can both watch what they like to view.
The only solution i can come up with is to install the motorized sysrem for the lounge and put the sons spiderbox on the existing sky dish.

Anyone any ideas that will make things easier?

Looks like both boxes will need separate subs ? but one good thing the box on the sky dish can have the free gift kept off unregistered then swap boxes after the year runs out on the other one.
The best deal we could find for a motorized system + extra box was from Alsat
with what they call an 0.1 lnb which is questionable but the dark motors are very good.
We are ready to order.

Could you not get a manual A-B switch connected so you could flick between which box controls the motor?
That way, with twin lnb on both dishes, you could have the motorised and sly on both boxes.
Maybe get a sub for one and use satlover line for the other.

Just one thing to be mentioned here that If you are using satlover's c line then make sure to use 1 c line in each box.

By using a twin/Quad LNB on sly, you could actually have sly and motorised both on one receiver with a Diseqc switch. The other receiver will have sly only.

Thanks for the reply's gents so really we still need two receivers .

I just had a thought i think we might need home plugs to get the upstairs box on line geez there is always something i forget.

You can use a WiFi dongle. If the receiver doesn't support WiFi then easy enough to use home plugs. They are about £30 a pair and good signal quality.

The boxes are ordered no 9000hd's left in stock so he is getting spiderbox 9900hd's and a good deal with the motorized system with home plugs only £10 extra added to the deal.

So i will need to get the latest 9900 patch for him ,i take it my 9000hd ch list will load into these 9900's ok,i really hope so otherwise a headache.

He only lives two doors away so usals long and lat will be the same as mine.
Time to look out the hammer drill and get the bracket plumb on the wall if it comes tomorrow.

but at same on both boxes u can not watch two different sattellites u will watch one satellite at both boxes but u can watch different channela at same tima and same sattellite

One lnb with two or more ports will work no problem. As already mentioned you can watch different channels but not different satelites.

if u r dish is not motorised then it is possible to install two or more twins lnbs on one dish for different sattellite and use separate diseq swtich for both the reciver then u can watch differnt channels on different sattellite at same time

see eg visiosat or wavefrontier azimut ; think up to 16 sats on 1 dish - as said: twin (or more) lnbs needed.

Problem is, that when you get a wave frontier with 16 lnb's it is going to be really expensive. They are also pretty big so if they are on the front of your house, can look very unsightly.
