    Re: Help Sky uk

Hello peter and welcome to the forum.
    First step internet connection.
either plug your stb straight into your broadband router, or as in my case, use homeplugs. You can also connect wirelessly, but my wireless is crap, so I avoid if i can.
But we really do need more info to help you on your way.

Hi and Welcome to the forum. Please be more specific? What do you want to do? You can receive all the Free 2 View channels on Astra 28.2e without internet connection if thats what you want to receive. Difficult to explain when we dont know what exactly you want to receive.

I havent used a Technomate but before you start messing with settings i would back it all onto your pc then if anything goes wrong you will always have your original backup to fall back on. If you have a usb dongle back it up onto that then copy it over to your PC somewhere. Im sure there will be a lot of help coming your way just takes time sometimes on here. good Luck

All you need to go to the technomate section and you will find everything you need the. From start to the end. You can also try some free lines from server 4. Only 1 line at a time please to avoid ban.

                hi

Little correction: think microchick meant server 3 (server 4 you get access to when you have 50 posts). From different servers (eg 3 and 4) you can use 1 cline of each server at the same time (if you ever want to). Further (have no Technomate): isn't there something in the manual about entering servers or setup? If not, ****** probablt can help you in case you don't find all the info you want here.

First thing you need to do is flash the image on your stb. I don't own a technomate so I'm not sure how you go about doing it, but I think you need dreambox control centre and flash through ftp. Not really sure so you best to look it up.

                        peter1351, just a tip,
as you seem quite new to all this, you dont say what model tech-no-mate you own, i had one myself, but tecnology moves on, if its old best to start with basic box, like i use spiderbox7000, very easy, check e-bay, if you go for dreamboxes, it will be quite confusing for you, and could be expensive but that your choice, sky can be received very easily in most boxes now, get yourself familiarised on this forum
Do not send me iptv/cline requests,

Toby is right. I was the same and started from the scratch. A basic box is good for a start. Think if you want just a sealion then openbox or skybox is the best for £50 or a second hand would be even cheaper. Good picture quality and very easy to set up. You will be up and running in 30 minutes with a free line from satlover SERVER 3

                            Re: Help Sky uk

So peter. Have you actually got a technomate or are you now looking for a new receiver?
Dreambox wise the dm800 pro and dm800 se are the most popular and widely supported.
The blade 7000 is good startup box.
Or a vu+ solo. or if you want twin tuners a vu + duo.
The dreambox and vu+ require a little bit more work to get going, but well worth the extra effort in the long run.
