    hi toby

I don't know the protocol of my gift, probably different to cccam ; but as short mentioned in my previous post: when I watch a giftchannel, I really need to turn the cline off (otherwise freezes/scrambled and not watchable).
Does someone can explain this, or is it simply because the cccam has prio 1 over the gift? Not really important, but like to know why this is.

I personally think one of the points about buying a box, is asking to yourself what your priorities are (eg gift or cccam, pay or not, which packages, ...). Then read a lot on different places and decide. There are boxes with unlimited gift, but I won't mention this here, think this isn't wanted and isn't part of the discussion anyway.

Just for interest: is there a possibility to prolong the gift or not?

I'll hazard a guess at the gift is an nline and the des key is the mac address of each box. I am coming up for a year on mine been a very stable line thats what makes me think its a nline. Remember you can make the deskey anything you want so to make it personal they would tie it to your mac address.

they say no way of prolonging the gift, many have tried to copy the software off one Spiderbox 9000HD on to another via but as to date i dont think anyone has had any luck,

Why not? I referred to some other boxes I know (but I don't have one), where the gift is for eg 12 or 18 months, and afterwards can be prolongend again with 12 or 18 months (after payment of course). Apparently the spiderboxes don't work that way, thanks for the info anyway.

Spannersmanner that makes my theory of the des key being your mac address more plausable you can't copy the mac from box to box. I think the reason you can;t renew the gift is because they will have another box in the pipeline. Not much chance you'll buy a new box if your old one is working is there.

No, you're not wrong, when you say it's like this, I believe you - no doubt (what's the spiderbox concerned).

Just thought this would be the same 'system' of other boxes I know of (some are gifted forever, some only for 12 or 18 months gifted but afterwards the 'service' can be paid for, for some it's even not known how long the gift will last, and there's the spiderbox with a gift that really ends after a certain time). Still learning new things each day!

yes when spiderbox gift runs out,buy another spider to continue, or as you know yourself, look for other boxes with a better (gift), one thats permanant, thats if you go plug an play option.
