    2 boxes - 1 problem

    Hi friends,

    First I need to say that I am a complete newbie in this world. I've bought 2 years ago a DM800 with a DE blackhole image and CCCAM already installed and never had one single problem. I have 2 lnbs in DiSeqc and everything was configured and worked 100%.

    As I moved home, I decided to buy the DM500HD so I could have tv in 2 rooms at the same time.

    The problem I am having is the following:

    - Both boxes work very well if at least one of them is not running the CAM (or off).
    - As soon as I initiate the CAM in both, one of the boxes (always the DM800) loses one of the the satellite signal. The other satellite works ok, and in both boxes I have signal. The satellite configured as LNB1 is lost.

    Do you guys know the reason for this? Am I doing something wrong? What the configuration be on both boxes?

    Just to add more info, after the diseqc switch I have a splitter to send the signal to the boxes.

    Thanks,

    JS

    I think the problem is maybe that you don't have a Dual-LNB/Twin-Output LNB (so you can watch with 2 receivers at the same time).

    A splitter just splits one signal to two receiver so you can watch the same program, but not f.e. one channel on the DM800 and another channel on DM500HD.

      as Zmija said, should not have problems with duel lnb, like sly who set-up multiroom with quad lnb, cables all over house.
      Do not send me iptv/cline requests,

      I will not answer!

          With a splitter, you will only be able to watch the similar polarity channels on both boxes at the same time. for example V on both or H on both. If you switch off one box then ther other one would be able to get all the channels without any problem.

            Thanks all to your answers. I do have twin output lnbs. In my diseqc switch I have 4 inputs (2 from each SAT) and 1 ouput. In the output I'm connecting a splitter to send the signal to both receivers.

            After have read some info on the net, I think I found the solution to my problem.

            The problem (I think)is that I have a single diseqc and I'm trying to control it from 2 different receivers. In fact I was wrong when previously I said that the signal was lost when I turn the CAM on. The signal is lost when I change the channel in one of the boxes. It works fine if I'm watching the same channel in both boxes (sometimes it works for some reason - maybe same transponder? - for different channels) but as soon as I try to watch different satellites, it stops working on the other receiver.

            Solution? I think I have to go with 2 diseqc switches. Am I right?

            Hope this can help somone in the future.

              Re: 2 boxes - 1 problem

              1st solution- One solution is to use 2 diseqc switch in combination with the Dual LNB's..
              1st satellite ----> diseqc Switch no.1 port 1 ---> Receiver (DM 800)
              2nd satellite ---> diseqc Switch no.1 port 2 ---> Receiver (DM 800)
              So this Diseqc has a direct output to DM 800..

              1st satellite ---> diseqc Switch no.2 port 1 --> Receiver (DM500HD)
              2nd satellite ---> diseqc Switch no.2 port 2 --> Receiver (DM500HD)
              So this Diseqc has a direct output to DM500HD..
              This a solution, you could do..

              2nd solution (advised)- I prefer to do it like you can see in the link below. It'll make a lot easier for you.. 4 input, 2 output and 1 switch only..

              ht--tp://www**.galaxy-marketing.com/diseqc2.jpg
              (remove the -- and **)

              This picture gives an example for 4 outputs, but you can also buy a switch with 2 outputs..
              Your problem is fixed by buying:
              1x Switch (4 input, 2 output).
              2x Dual LNB

              @MicroChick. Yeah I know, but I don't think he ment to watch only H or V polarity channels.. Just to don't make him confused with this kind of stuff.. I think I made myself more clear with the picture and the explaination.
