OK, in the case where memory is limited you're completely right. I just also replied in the thread you referred too some posts ago (atm I have enough memory and prefer autoscan for the reasons I wrote there - take a look if you want)

i checked the frequences rescanned and nothing, still happens (made fec automatic too)

Especially in dm500s is a very common problem,
But you said that you tried with other box and the problem is still there.

so, I think,as pat3 above said, that you have to adjust your motor more accurately.

Another solution is to use another ready channels list.

So...I guess i'll have to ask a professional to do that ....since he has to take his mini-TV up there to rescan it...

your quote, I think that this has something to do with the DiseqC motor, because the sat equipment is on top of a 8-story building, and it was 4 years up there. I mean - there were strong winters, cruel summers, etc... I think that's the problem..

4 years? thats a good run you have had, time i think for a new motor, if you cannot do yourself, get a professional on the case??

Did you try to delete the 'old' transponder(s) and then add them again with the new correct values (worked for me after changed S/R)?

Yes its worth checking the cables unscrewing the f plug and making sure that the cable is all tidy inside and no insulation screening threads touching the main copper part. Then put some fresh self amalgamating tape on it.

Hmm, I think it's the motor too, because here's whats new:
I go on RTL Televizja on DigiTV, and there's no signal, BUT - when I turn the motor a bit on the east from that position (because I have put USALS) - RTL TELEVIZIJA WORKS..But when I change to another satelite, or frequency and get back to RTL/Nova, it just dissapears, there's no signal...

And also, some channels from EutelW2 (like Hayat) turned back as normal. I was just scrolling trough my channels (because I knew hayat TV didn't open - not because of the sharing, because of the AGC was 0%) and then it just opened all by itself (I haven't changed a thing!)

I assumed that the cable maybe was the problem, but I think the motor has to do with that... I'm still searching for a pro to do the job...

see you having no luck then edin40, just a long shot, has your box got a nudge facility, just to try if that moves motor, in my box its called step, just nudges motor for fine tuning. might kick start the motor??
good luck an let us know the outcome, but does look like new motor required.

you also say you use usals
have you tried to move and store the satellites manually

Tried to step-nudge it...I can get the channel I want, but when I go to another channel on the same satellite, and go back to the previous channel that I found moving the motor - I loose the channel until I find it again with fine-tuning.

I don't know how to do that...On the dreambox, on the opticum 4100c I knew

thats odd, but have you got the motor moving yet from sat to sat.

                            STAGE 1.
Setting up a DM800 none usals
GOTO Main Menu \ Setup \ Service Searching \ Tuning
                            Press "OK" on "TUNER A"

Use L/R keys to change Configuration Mode to "advanced"
                            Move down to "SATELLITE"
Use L/R keys to select the satellite you want to add

                            Go down to "LNB"
Use L/R keys to select "LNB 1"
Next ensure "Diseqc Mode" is " 1.2"
(I left the others at the default setting's)
Scroll further down to "LOF" and set it to "Universal LNB" using the L/R keys

Underneath that set "Use USALS" for this satellite to "no" using L/R keys
                            Go down to "Stored position"
Set the position you want to for this satellite to appear at using L/R keys ie 001, 002 etc and press ok
Then Press "OK" to save the info you have inputted.
You will need to perform this for each Satellite position you intend to set up. Before you got to positioner setup.

                            STAGE 2.
GOTO back to Main Menu \ Setup \ Service Searching \ Positioner Satfinder
                            Go down to "Satfinder"

Press ok on Satfinder next picture

Using L/R keys select "Predefined or Manual transponder" as required
Go down to "Satellite" and use the L/R keys to select the Satellite to place at the above Storage postion
                            Press "OK"
When you have a lock exit this screen

GOTO back to Main Menu \ Setup \ Service Searching \ Positioner setup

Press ok on positioner setup next picture
                            Go up to "Tune"
                            Press the "Red Button"
Select the satellite that you had a lock on, change the transponder so it was the same as in the satfinder picture
