Re: C Band on 10E - Old tech, new adventure
Not moving house, annual hunting trip.
Channels on Ku band African Beams are a waste of time. Stuff like Whoo-hoo is not for me. Back to C Band searches again, but I can see that down here a 240 cm or bigger dish would be the answer. I find good C band signal, but cannot open all the channels.DM500s on 68.5E, 10E Cband

Re: C Band on 10E - Old tech, new adventure
Does not open any channels on 37W. On 10 E C Band I am unsure which channels are opened by DB Softcam and which are opened by Server 3. Channel O, Cine FX, Polar, MGM Africa, MCS extreme, MCM Top and few other unviewables. Dont open French Lover TV, hee, hee.
I think the Con** channels are opened by Server 3, they take a long time before opening.DM500s on 68.5E, 10E Cband

Unused C Band dish in dessert nearby. Thing must be at least 6 meters across. Imagine Mr Dessertrat behind the wheel of this one.

Re: C Band on 10E - Old tech, new adventure
I have 180 Mesh, but it is too small for proper C band reception. It opens only the strong transponders on C Band, which in most cases seems to be Chinees and French. I am on my way now to go have a look at old 240 cm dish at an old mine about 80 clicks from here. Hols thumbs, it is a solid 240 cm.DM500s on 68.5E, 10E Cband

Re: C Band on 10E - Old tech, new adventure
I reckon that would need at least 6 foot dish. Hot Bird is accessable on a 6 foot dish so I would think it would be similar size but a C band instead of ku band.If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Thank youComment

Re: C Band on 10E - Old tech, new adventure
hi
India is a bit far to test , but I suggest you have a search on the internet, I don't remember the sites names, bit there are some very useful websites with detailed info about reception location/reception/sats
PS: I think one of them was satbeam or something like thisComment

Re: C Band on 10E - Old tech, new adventure
I would suggest 180cm solid or 240 cm mesh with c/ku band lnb. It seems that with C Band the old saying; "The bigger , the better" still holds true. My 180 mesh does not open all the channels on localized c band beams and nothing on c band wide beam.DM500s on 68.5E, 10E Cband
