Help me to receive signal

hi guys
i am using solid hss2-3000 receiver
new 17k lnb & 6 feet antenna
i am not getting any signal
i try using digital sat finder..when i connect the lnb its goto reading 10..not receiving any signal
i got only noise 41,42

i am in chennai
can i get intelsat 17

check from flysat about the foot print in your area

make sure all your connections are properly in and tight.

you have to check like malikawan7 says, make sure your 6 foot dish is capably of receiving the satellite signals you require, there are a few sites to guide you in doing this, flysat, satbeams, kingofsat, etc.
best to try a free to air channel as they can be quite a strong signal as a guide.

Please also mention about the foot print of this sat in your region

An excellent satfinder plugin for Dreambox on this forum. Very helpful. Try it out.

i suggest smart sat tv finder for searching signal its expensive but very usefull
