Re: Advice for a noob on motorised set up

I installed a dark motor , mount , triax 1.1m and a vu+ duo, twin cables etc and it works a treat, suffered thru the gales and the bad weather but its never let me down yet
recommend the vu+ duo if you want a flexible, reliable receiver and the dark motor is pretty fast and quiet ...

Now if you have 2 feeds form 28.2° east and you have say for example a Vu+ Duo then you can record 3 different channels on the same transponder on Tuner A and Record 2 channels on tuner B while watching a 3rd channel on Tuner B on the same transponder.

Example : Same transponder as above but on Tuner A on Duo Record si-fi channel + Comedy Central Extra + Movies 24.

While on Tuner B you could record on TP 11389 H 27500 animal planet +1 and discovery science +1 while watching Dmax Uk, you could also record that as well as watching.

So to clarify on a single tuner its possible to record 3 channels on the same transponder but with a dual tuner like the Duo you can record up to 6 channels on 2 different transponders.

Woow, this is quite remarkable! I even don't know if there's any need for any of us to record such number of channels?? Don't know either if the rec is capable, try proofed, that it could record quality wise at all!
If it's processor IS capable of such feats then it could be must have for small distributors (home made or alike).
Processor and board architecture are more developed obviously then on DM800 or 8000???

I can understand the concept of recording multiple channels from an LNB that has tuned to a specific band (High or Low) & polarity (H or V) but I have never heard of hardware that can record so many channels on just a single tuner. My understanding was that 1 tuner = 1 channel as it's the tuners job to extract & process the single channel the viewer wants from the stream of data it receives?

It's two tuners but basically you're right. Here as I understood, twin tuner, double channel rec and view. And with some plugin I suppose X2!
Daamn! It is a good idea, moreover real deal!!!
