New Israeli satellite Amos 5, which was launched successfully from Baikonur Cosmodrome on 11 December will be put into commercial operation today, the second orbital position of Amos - 17E.
Amos 5 is made from Russian satellite information systems JSC "Academician MF Reshetnev". Amos 5 is based on Ekspress-1000N platform and is equipped with 18C/18Ku transpondara. Satellite will provide telecommunications services primarily for the African region, the Middle East and parts of Europe.
