German TV group ProSiebenSat.1 has purchased a movie and series package from Hollywood studio Warner Bros.
Through the multi-year output deal of which financial details have not been disclosed the broadcaster secures the exclusive free-to-air rights for its German TV channels on the studio's theatrical releases in the forthcoming years.
With the agreement, ProSiebenSat.1 has managed to beat competitor RTL which held an exclusive rights deal with Warner Bros in the past three years.
The package contains new productions such as the new "Superman" and "Batman" movies, "Pacific Rim" as well as library titles including fantasy trilogy "Lord of the Rings" and several movies of the "Harry Potter" series.
Warner Bros will also provide ProSiebenSat.1's channels with new US series in the next years.
