    Line stability?

Hi been reading some older postings about clines causing the cam to become unstable?. It mentions the more lines you have loaded it uses more memory to be used hence freezes etc. Is this likely to be the case if you have say 10 lines loaded in menu but only one switched on? Is that still using memory needed to operate the box efficiantly? Or is that just if all lines are switched on?.

I found that it still freezes even if you have only 1 line in use and nothing in the other slots. It comes down to the server quality at the time. Sometimes the line might be very good, 2 days later, it will crash the whole box...

The speed (latency) of your internet and the quality of the server is the most important thing.

            Re: Line stability?

For me, all depends on server quality not from number of lines.
I also try one vs several lines and have a lot of freeze with one
line an almost no freeze with 4-5 lines. I think it also depends on
version of cccam you are using (it is believed that new versions have ability to automatically choose the best cline for you).

agree, all down to server and what version comes with it, ive got n/line in my non linux box it previously was c/line but much better now, i suppose if you tried many servers for a test some would always be better than others, that what i found after trying a few pay servers before paying a sub.

agree, this has been discussed many times before, mainly when newbies lose there chns one way or another, then expect free lines to be a+++ , but free lines mainly for educational and experemental purposes.
learning curve, we all been there no doubt.

it really comes down to the server quality not the number of clines you have but newcamd servers tend to be more stable from what i have experenced if i am not wrong.

with the free lines i have found even from server3 there is always a few decent chns to view, its just a question of searching for them out of peak times, and always the most popular are going to be the chns which get disrupted as always high usage.

With all the servers if you stay clear of ND$ channels and particularly on the less pop sats such as 23.5E and 9E you can find some reasonably stable ecm times.
