    Re: files

It certaily would the only reason upto now is human rights laws, they can shut these sites down no trouble at all, once it effects goverments. sites like wikki have no chance, even if they where in a country were it was allowed and could set up again all content coming into a country can be filtered out.just like when you get banned on forum they can block you from entering, wich you can get round,
also they could get round it by some fancy software but it would only be for so long.
Like in china if they do not like it, it gets filtered.

so ifIn computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource available from a different server. The proxy server evaluates the request according to its filtering rules. For example, it may filter traffic by IP address or protocol. If the request is validated by the filter, the proxy provides the resource by connecting to the relevant server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client's request or the server's response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server. In this case, it 'caches' responses from the remote server, and returns subsequent requests for the same content directly.

The proxy concept was invented in the early days of distributed systems as a way to simplify and control their complexity. Today, most proxies are a web proxy, allowing access to content on the World Wide Web.

so if say downloading sites were banned, you employ (pay) a proxy server and would he be able to connect for you

It looks like they want to put users behind "iron curtain". I think that it would be possible only if they totally cut off internet cables. Nowadays when globalization is growing up every minute it looks impossible. So there always will be a solution.

China has tightened controls on internet use, requiring anyone who wants to set up a website to meet regulators and produce ID documents.

The technology ministry said the measures were designed to tackle online ****ography, but internet activists see it as increased government censorship.
seems like its already being censored in some places.

The only way round it is to go fishing by sat but you would only be able to collect what falls in your net, because to ask for a specific request your back to cencorship unless you can upload to a sat.

Maybe they have but if they are banned they cannot route into a country if they are not allowed, the americans are not liked in some countries and they cannot do as they like wich has been proved.

don't think that adapted american anti piracy law will pass, wickapedia and other site actions were huge success, eaven white house is against such law, one of their amendments is freedom of speach and expression, so.....
In china they also have found ways to counter the censoring, will be the same for other countries if such unreasonable laws would be voted, to be continued I guess

so perhaps gpaolobut, these wrong, proxy servers cannot provide internet access to countrys policed by authorties.

proxy server works with certain net protocols, like http, ftp, maybe udp or anything else. It lets traffic only of specified types to go through
if you are talking about processor serial number, intel doesn't need http-like protocol to view it.

In my opinion card sharing is not so wide spread and relatively small amount of people according to real sbscribers use this services.
