    while searching net checking out linux boxes came across this one called gigablu 800hd se ,anyone know anything about these and are they maybe a clone of a DB

    The Gigablue 800hd se is not a 1:1 Dreambox 800 se Clonebox.

        saw this box for 159€ single tuner and 169€ for double tuner ,not a bad price if you want to try a linux box.Does it have it's own images .

          It does run under the gigablu image but being same as the dream box should run under enigma etc. it seems to be a german derived box and there are forums that have images for it.

              hi happy camper, again i would not waste your time on a little known box like that, you already trying to find write ups and reliability, and main reason to avoid, where will you get the support, if you going to take the plunge in the linux boxes, take the main route, dreambox. toby

                Thanks Toby not thinking of getting one! just curios,trying to find out as much as possible about differnt linux before getting one.Dreamox on top at moment.Cheers...

                  The suport of the gigablu is not bad but i thing you can finde better reciver.

                  Dreambox is on top right, but there are very good alternative linux based receiver like the vu+ duo or uno.
