    C line by USB

First of all thanks to all the great help the members on site has given me in my short time I have been here.

I have been experimenting with both my TM6900 Super and Spiderbox 7000hd.

Can I ask a question about uploading c line to Spiderbox by USB.

I have been experimenting with these lines which is saved onto USB stick as server.cfg.

    C: 772059044 30000 tshot11 Fo0S9d
    C: 772059018 11228 tshot11 Fo0S9d
    C: 772059044 22000 tshot11 Fo0S9d

When I upload by USB it shows the info for the second 2 lines but does not overwrite the C line I entered manually yesterday (a server 3 line). Am I doing something wrong or is there a reason why the manually entered line remains?

    Thanks

This I would like to know aswell, a similiar problem I had was when using that file via USB to upload, nothing was overwriting at all, so I gave up. Any clues as to why?

maybe because there is already a line occupied.
when i was playing with a dm500, i had access to the current cfg file on the box so when i upload via dcc, i had the option to replace or leave the clines there. what happens if u remove the clines first? like freeing up some space then load via usb.

if you loading new c/line, for update and you only load 5 say, and you already got 1 in there, it probably will not over write unless you load a complete 10 lines to fill all 10 slots slots perhaps, i have been entering c/lines manually since day 1, personal choice thou.

But thats not what we are asking. If in slot 1 you input one line via the server.cfg file, then once it is successfully uploaded to the box via USB, it should overwrite any line that was in the slot 1 that you yourself manually input. But it doesnt... why? (this is for a technomate 5402hd on my part)

Don't know about TM, but in spiderbox it will overwrite old line only if it is switched off.

                Hi

I have been playing with box this morning and I have it cracked I thinks.

Try this, bit long winded but it works for me. Sorry if you already know this info but just trying to help anyone that had same confusion as me.

First get a USB stick and format it to Fat32 on PC or put in Spiderbox, Menu, USB, Format.

                1 Get c line from server 3 as normal (from this site) C: cccam.s******r.com 3798 3CC3BB7C_48F01FFF www.s******r.com no { 0:0:3 } From Yesterday
2 Copy the line to notepad on your pc.
3 Delete everything on the c line after www.s******r.com
4 Save this edited line to USB stick as server.cfg
5 Put USB stick into Spiderbox
                6 Press Menu, Network, Enter
7 Press Client, Client Setup, Enter. It should show off if you have not entered a line before, if it does not show off then turn it off and save. If it shows off then next step.
8 Press Menu, USB, server.cfg file should show on tv, press enter, Should say "Do you want to import config file" ,YES
9 Turn off Box and leave for 30 seconds ( Not sure if this is needed, maybe someone can add to this if they don't think it is. Maybe possible just to reboot STB) but worked for me
10 Turn box back on. Menu, Network, Client, Client Setup. In line 1 it should show the line you have imported as "cccam.s******r.com with port number etc. If you press enter it should show the line correctly set out in box. If you exit this menu, back one to Client Setup, it should show as connected and if you wait a while no. of cards.

I hope I have helped here but feel free to add anything else.

                Cheers

                  Well explained steve,
but Instead of "Menu > Network > Client > Client Setup" just press "<-pr"
and instead of "Menu > USB" just press "fn2"
                  (if your lazy, like me)

For the spider you should have a config file mounted on your usb flash drive then you just copy straight on to the usb no need to put into other note pad file and just copy and paste all the line your config file will edit it when transfering to the spider
