    osn on 7west

hi. from what i've read, getting a good signal from 7 west in the uk would require a very large dish.
there are several channels i want to receive from that satellite but couldn't get it with my 90 cm motorised dish. not sure if i had to realign it or it is just not big enough for it. i have a fixed 1m dish that is sitting in the garden not being used. will that be big enough? if it is, i'll be posting help on how to set it up as i paid an installer to intall the motorised dish for me (before) so i don't know how to do it. thanks.

thanks. i wanted to get osn channels. pls have a look here: hxxp://www.osn.com/default_en_gb.aspx
after an hour of searching, there is a possibility that i could get a bit of signal (vertical TPs).

its mainly the vertical ones i'm interested in:

don't really want to buy another (and bigger) dish. oh well, i'll just have to enjoy watching other sats nearby. thanks for trying by the way.

          did u try transponder 5?

This is the most tricky satellite pick up. It is possible, but the margin that you will be playing on is so fine, which weather conditions changing you will lose signal and gain it back another time. If you get a tv nearby to tweak your dish patiently if you have 110cm+ size dish, then its possible, but when you lock it you have to be careful not to move it a millimetre otherwise you will have to start over again. When you are nudging the dish, be patient and give a few seconds to each new position instead of moving within a second or so if you havent found signal. It is definately possible to get this satellite but you have to be very very precise with the arc and angles of the satellite to a high degree of accuracy to be able to get it.

Even if you manage to get a good signal and can tune OSN channels, you will need a decoder from the OSN supplier.
They are using paired decoder to card method.
If you remove the card from one box, you cannot use it on another box from them.
The channels are available on IP TV service providers.
As far as I know, they are not available on other sharing sevice providers.

that's what intrigued me. there was this premium cccam server saying that osn will be available in their package that's why it got me interested.

Will be available is not available now!
If they cannot deliver now, do not part with your cash.
Ask to use the server for 24 hours as a try.

Would be interesting to see if they can deliver these channels on Dreambox.
I have seen them on IP boxes and the HD quality is not that good.
Nothing compared to what you get from the satellite using Dreambox.

i'm keeping an eye on their website and see how it progresses. i'll send u by pm their site if u don't mind. i emailed them about it (osn) but didn't really ask for a test line as i can't get a signal from my motorised dish, and i can't go out in the garden and fiddle with my 1 m fixed dish. besides, it isn't part of the package yet.

just tried now, on 11862v27500 nile-201 beam, no chance.
i think i read somewhere english sky chns on that bouquet, but as mentioned probably with card an paired box as mentioned.

Looking forward to your feedback once you get your dish setup.
It is too cold to go in the garden now, besides cloudy or rainy weather reduces signal strength.

the more i read about 7 west, the more i lose my interest on it. perhaps i should just forget about it as it is indeed tricky to receive.

if i were you noypi i would give up on that sat as you probably know by now it would be an expensive venture,no doubt you checked beams, planning permission perhaps required for big dish, i went down that route long time ago as there were lotta fta chns in english, look at the situation now plenty chns for choice at not to much cost. a bit different from a couple years ago, (patching tech-no-mates) entering keys. etc
