Family channel Disney Channel will launch a high-definition simulcast in Germany on 24 December 2011. Disney Channel HD will be available exclusively on the pay-TV platform of Sky Deutschland which will then comprise a total of 42 HD channels.
Sky and Disney also agreed to expand the broadcast rights for Disney movies: A broad variety of blockbusters will be available through on-demand service Sky Anytime and the mobile service Sky Go from December 2011.
After Disney Cinemagic HD, Disney Channel HD is the US broadcaster's second HD channel in Germany.
