The fourth 3D collaboration between Sky and David Attenborough will be screened late next year.
Sky is teaming up with David Attenborough for his fourth 3D project with the pay TV giant, this time focusing on the Galapagos Islands.
The three-part natural history series, which will be presented and written by the veteran broadcaster, will be called Galapagos 3D and is scheduled to air on Sky 3D in late 2012.
It represents the latest collaboration between Sky and Atlantic Productions, a partnership that led to the establishment of Colossus Productions, which was founded with the intention of creating original 3D content for audiences in the UK and overseas.
Atlantic Productions and Sky have previously linked up to create the Bafta-winning Flying Monsters 3D, The Bachelor King 3D and Kingdom of Plants 3D, all of which are fronted by Attenborough.
"Galapagos is one of the most wonderful places in the world. There are extraordinary creatures living there that live nowhere else - a whole slew of marvellous animals," the presenter commented.
As well as working on homegrown 3D programming, Sky announced in July that it had secured 3D output deals with pay TV channel brands Disney, Discovery Networks and MTV.
