Yep still up to his old tricks of pissing people off!

Those of us who bought a Spiderbox knew it's 'gift' package wouldn't last for ever, but they could have least for warned Spiderbox owners when it was going to expire!

I was going to make a post on there to point the demoralised SP owners to this forum, but it would only increase the traffic here and I would have probably been banned by Anorak!

A lot of spiders still working it depends on what version hardware you have that is it says [ rm ] it is ok for the time being, if yours has gone off you must well and truely had your monies worth out of the box.

To be honest mines still working but I no longer bother using service+ as it is no where as good as the original gift package was.

But then again it did come with the box and a suppose it wasn't a bad deal at the time, but there are much better packages out there.

hi my spiderbox is two years old so i to lost the gift i just regret that now its pretty stable so here i am a complete novice to this side of things i hope to learn how to use it with peoples help.

The box has given me two years of good viewing and of course I'm sorry it's come to an end as far as gift is concerned - but there's more that can be done with the box and it's not ready yet for the scrapheap. Picking up on an earlier point, what other packages do forum members think might be better?

Actually I thought it was nearly back to its best with full HD package for D+ Spain on 19E, some of C+ Pol 13E, some of C+ Swe on Thor and some of Meo on 30W including most importantly the TV2 PL channels on Thor (which aren't open here) and Sport TV Ingelsa on 30W which was perfect for PL footy. Lost my Ethernet but had it for 18 months so can't complain!

i bought my spider 18 months ago so am not complaining.Mainly bought it for HD and the gift came as a bonus,as HD dreams were quite expensive.It had it's good times and it's bad ,and we all know you takes your chances in this hobby .I have had many a cam now chucked in the draw,and unlike my old cams i am still using my spider.

yes there all still there the ethernet server still keeping a lot of people happy footy,film,doco's history ect,for how long it will last is upto the server.
And even a lot more if you use other sevices on the box.

Would have thought that the easier way to make money (a***t that is) was to offer a subscription as no upfront hardware costs for them, yet they seem to think clearing the server to make room for a new box is the way to go. I think the main problem and why quite a few people are p*****d off is people who bought the spiderbox were new to this game and don't know other ways of making the box work, as no programming of cards etc was required with this box. Bottom line me thinks is new sat box sales on a certain website may not be as good as once was due to how this all was communicated.

Whilst I think in the short term their box sales may be affected, eventually people will start to feel less angry and new customers come on the scene.

Many people will still want a plug and play sat box, when officals sub are so expensive.

the other way is if your box goes down or dies is read the chip where the hardware version is kept and rewrite to the latest version thats what i will try when mine goes down

The point I was making when I started this thread was not how good the box has been, but yet again how people on Alshat are being treated and shat on!

The attitude the mods have on there is way out of order! It's only because they were selling something every sat hacker wanted at the time, is the only reason why they have got away with it for so long.

Thats what I like about this forum, freedom of speech without some arrogant shit (probably suffering from little man syndrome) threatening to ban you!

it was the same with the tech-no-mate range, people wanted patches etc to get there free chns from that bunch, then came there own, (the darkbox) then there own range of products, dark lnb, dark motor, etc
