Channel 5 only Astra 1N

Channel 5 parallel terminated transmission stopped from Astra 2A. Channel 5 with five regional and Channel 5 in the USA, 5 star (and versions +1) has started broadcasting free of Astra 1N - UK beam. From next week the channel will be included in the offer of the British platform Freesat.

any idea if they will be fta on freesat, is that 3chns +1 = 6, or 4chns +1 =8.

most FTA channels eventually appear of freesat platform but in the meantime it can be added manually to a freesat box.

we have freeveiw but we only use it for local news and as a tv guide, nothing beats satellite, thats only my opinion thou. more choice, more variaty.

Also on that frequency is Channel 5 +1, it's shown as "7720" (FTA)

Channel 5 +1 is not FTA yet, it is currently still encrypted.

It should go FTA sometime this week though.

all the CH5's will be free to air should be tomorrow the 7th dec apart from CH5 HD which will remain encrypted but viewable with a Sky Freesat card.

thats another bonus for all satellite users, all saves time messing around with freeveiw, someone said to me some time ago satellite tv dying, how wrong could he be.

Channel +1 is now FTA and has appeared on the Sky EPG number 177.

Makes the Freesat From $ky card even less attractive - have been selling mine on eBay.

The only other channels you need a sly card for now is Pick TV, Pick TV +1 and liverpool FC TV.

he tried foreign sats back in august, but they were very glitchy, not viewable, but said would make improvements in the future, lets hope ay.
