    Hom much data?

    Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is the wrong place but didn't know where to ask. Does anyone know exactly how much data is transfered between your router and your satelittebox using cccam. Thank you.

can you check this by doing a speed checker with cccam/box on, then with cccam/box off, an note the difference, im not high tec so dont bite my head off if wrong.

it will probably work but it may freeze on packages with NDS encryption.

You can also check the traffic from a device-ip to another device-ip using special software (available also in freeware version).
If you browse the net looking for "sniffer" you will find lot of this program.

My preferred is "spynet", very easly to configure and to use.

                  A good way to test:

                  1. Make sure you have no wireless activity coming out of your router and no other ethernet cables apart from to your reciever and 1 pc that you will use to track the data.

                  2. Login to the i.p of your router and find the section that containts the data transfer. Make a note of the download and upload kb/mb. (This part may vary depending on what router you have but ****** how to login to your specific router)

                  3. Use the reciever for say 10 minutes.

4.Refresh the page on the browser of your computer that contains the router menu which you accessed by typing in the i.p address and right down the new data count and find the difference, and that is your answer...

Yes , this may be a good way... except that I didn't have such a section in my router.

It's from "digicom", and when I access to it to configure, no section about nat, ssh or file data size transfert. I can only on firewall rules on port.

Maybe there are some hidden section.
                    Do you know something about?

Interesting, well I think you are in the right section then, on my router, it is in a section called "broadband" in advanced settings... It may be that your router does not have it then which is really unlucky... Have 1 more look, otherwise I will run a test for you myself.

I've seen figures quoted of 50-80mb a month as typical usage for cccam use, but it will of course vary depending on how often you use it!

That's right, when you would watch Sk* UK all day the amount of data will be a lot higher than i.e. with C* Digitaal. Much more ECM's.

Still, data transfer from CCcam will be very marginal compared to a regular browsing session with your PC.

                            Yes, You were right.
I found a small section on Status/Statistic where i can see the amount traffic.
But it is the total and global traffic.
If I want to check the traffic between a specific IP and internet, this tool is not good.

I prefer to use software like sniffer.
