i only used that web site back in 2007 when setting up a 270cm dish, to check beam coverage for 19e or 13e in cyprus setting up dish in avatar, i found 13 east the best
footprint so manage to receive hotbird as could still get the old tps-star, etc, bouquet.
as i put in previous post could be handy for some, perhaps not for signal strengh, but what does this mean, dbw, i always thought it was for decibell watts?

Interesting. The website recommend me to get a 120cms dish for astra 19.2. Well i have good signal and no problem with my 60cms dish.

It is far easier just to press the info button on the remote it will give you signal quality and streangth.

its a site to determined to see if you can locate a particulated sat.
locate your area with marker, click on which sat you want to check to see if you are in footprint, you will then see beam simaler to a weather map, click on isobars, eirp level=?dbw, shows approx dish size required in cms/inches.
e.i.r.p.=effective isotropic radiated power
dbw=decibell watt on the weather chart if you track.
the eirp level= the further from your location the weaker the eirp/dbw signal.
eirp/dbw dish size
50 = 50-65cms
49 = 50-70
48 = 50-75
47 = 55-90
46 = 60-95
45 = 75-100
44 = 90-120
43 = 105-130
42 = 120-150
41 = 130-165
40 = 135-180
39 = 150-205
38 = 180-230
37 = 215-255
36 = 240-280
35 = 270-315

It's a good tool, but only approximate. It depends also on the quality of performance antenna, LNB parameters, etc.

Yes you right it won't show tha signal strenght in db but only the Equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) of the signal reaching the targeted area.

It is far easier just to press the info button on the remote it will give you signal quality and streangth.

I think vimmers that the site itself will show you automatically your own location (in Lat and Long) (on the left side of Screen) then what one has to do is to pick the required Satellite from above (where there are a lot of Sats near each other) and if the one you are interested is not shown then click on '5 deg' button (up top, left) until the required Sat will come into view (you will see the whole Sats system moving slowly by continously clicking on the 5deg button) and then click on that particular sat (where there are a lot of Sats near each other). Then the main picture will change to that required Sat where it will show you the Eirb of that Satellite.

yes alfred_1 has near enough got it right, some of these sites are a bit trial and error, might suit some but not others, just see how you get on with it

satbeams.com hope helpful for some peeps

this site has been availble for some time and i still find it quite useful, as i hope anyone else will find it handy, probably very handy for newbies
