The leading Russian DTH platform Tricolor TV has connected its ninth million subscriber.
Furthermore, 30 million people, or almost a fifth of the country’s population, now watch its services.
Tricolor TV’s subscriber base is 30% larger than a year ago and its operator National Satellite Company (NSC) puts its success down to a number of factors including national (federal) advertising, a reduction in connection fees and introduction of additional services.
NSC’s general director Pavel Basov said the company is seeking further subscriber and ARPU growth through what is described as a 5D (five directions) strategy of content, technology, internal company resources and maintaining the information and user community.
Tricolor TV was launched in 2005 and its services are broadcast to a potential audience of 125 million people in Russia.
