DivX announced the DivX Plus ™ HD Certified to the latest range of digital TV chips Semiconducotres (DTV) MStar.
This is the first digital television chip MStar certified to support DivX Plus HD video based on H.264 technology and using the MKV container, which optimizes the playback of high definition video and Hollywood movies in digital media.
DivX Plus HD certification is the certification level Premium DivX, optimized for consumer electronics devices and supporting playback of all content created with DivX software.
Devices with this certification played all previous versions of DivX video, Hollywood content in DivX and DivX Plus video files, HD mkv extension and AAC.
