ZON is adding an additional ten new high definition channels to its line up, introducing a new ‘high definition pack’ and taking the total to 36.
Six of the new channels are featured in the pack, which is being priced at €2.50 per month. At the same time the Brava HD TV and iConcerts HD channels will cease to be sold separately.
The new channels in the package are Sundance Channel HD, Food Network HD, Outdoor Channel HD, Trace Sports HD, Trace Urban HD and Travel Channel HD.
AXN Black HD, Sony HD and RTP1 are being introduced on cable, while satellite subscribers will see ESPN America HD, Discovery HD Showcase, Travel Channel HD and AXN Black HD.
TV Cine, the recently launched channel with an emphasis on first run US series, makes its debut across the subscriber base.
Louise Cottrell, VP Affiliate Sales for Chello Zone who brokered the deal for The Outdoor Channel, said, “There has been a gap in the Portuguese market for a channel that features quality HD programming about the great outdoors and we are confident the launch of Outdoor Channel will prove popular with viewers and secure a loyal audience.”
Geoff Ellis, chief operating officer, Travel Channel International described Portugal as a key territory. “Travel Channel HD brilliantly showcases the world in high definition bringing stunning locations to life as viewers enjoy a truly immersive entertainment experience. ”
A multimedia advertising campaign masterminded by BBDO will launch in the next few days.
