    BBC HD at the broadcasting end by budget cuts.

    This is one of the consequences of budget cuts visbiles announced by the British operator for several months. Now it has released detailed restructuring plan and this also includes the loss of 2,000 jobs and other changes in program schedules of the group: BBC One will reduce the number of entertainment programs, BBC News will focus information today, giving less room for cultural and scientific programs. The BBC also will reduce by 15% the budget allocated to the sport, with the rights of the first Formula 1 suffer. And as said in input Hamos, BBC HD will disappear and in its place will be a version of BBC Two in HD ...

          I think that economic crisis knock the door of bbc.

          It's very sad to hear stop broadcasting channels but even more to hear that people loss jobs

              To me, it makes more sense to drop the BBC HD in favour of a BBC Two HD channel anyway. The BBC HD channel is seen by some as a test channel for some HD content. Whilst a proper BBC Two HD feed run in tantum with the SD feed. Give choice and leads the way forward to a drop of the SD feed and only providing HD content.
              Saying its about funding could just be the scapegoat throw away comments from the BBC to drop something thats not performing and streamline for the future.
              Dislikes the Chinese Openbox Receivers, so much..

                  Anyway the loss of jobs is a the worst new for all of us. A channel closed is not important, the most important are people who works in this channel.
                  Crisis, crisis, crisis....CRYsis.

                      It is not actually a loss of jobs, the only job losses are the people who will not relocate to the new media city in manchester instead of london. The jobs will be recreated when everything has been relocated.

                                  its a bad thing this .. i liked to watch formula 1 on these channels as they had a very good coverage of everything !
