BBC Research & Development has created a new prototype designed to help viewers remember TV and radio programmes.
The Programme List supports all national BBC channels as well as some partner channels including ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. The previously closed trial is now open to anyone with a Twitter account.
In a blog post Tristan Ferne, a senior development producer, explained that by using The Programme List it was possible to search for recent and upcoming programmes on TV and radio; add entire shows, series or just episodes to your list’ and what programmes are on your list and when and where they are available; broadcast and online. The list goes forward for ten days and back for seven.
Sky already carries a reminder function for its online TV guide, allowing users to register a favourite show, and be notified when it returns to air.
