Which Top Box Would you Buy?

Been looking at other STB's that on offer today and the Protek has caught my eye, as nothing is never for certain with our hobby, which box would you go out and purchase today?

      This is a difficult question.

      The box should have HD

The other features depend on your budget.
At the moment I have the same question:

100 € for a simple box like the Openbox S9 hd

      or 200 € for a Dream 800HD Clone

I haven't an answer for me yet...

For me the best STB is DM 800 HD PVR. Expensive but reliable.Everything you need is in it.

If you're on a tight budget, you might consider buying Dreambox 500HD... Very nice receiver, powerful and it's a good bang for the buck..

First of all I would see how much I can afford to spend. That will be my starting point. Then I will personally go for a box which is realable and has a good after sales support like for instance Image support.

I would like to mention: Dreamboxes - Vu duo+ - Clarke techs etc. etc.

All these boxes have good support and are renowned for their performance
              .

I think when you say "Top box" for me it really sounds "Dreambox 8000HD".

Without looking at the price of course

I would totally agree the DM8000HD is an absolute winner in all departments, the only downside for an official one is the Price. I could afford one but i just cant seem to justify paying over £1000 for a twin tuner sat box, My ET9000 will suffice for now until the price drops

I agree with Digicon. DM8000HD is a little jewel. Not for every one.Only for the chosen one. Made in Germany.

Dreambox 8000HD would have to be the best box at the moment.

I would go for the dreambox 8000HD if I have enouth money or the DM 600 with a little money. The other very good option are the Technomate Linux receiver. Have a good look around

The Dreambox 8000HD is the rolls royces of satellite receiver. If you have enough money for it, don't hesitate...

The Dreambox 8000HD is out of the budget of most users....
