SMATV help

Hi all i need to know if i can use my same satellite receiver which is DM500s on a SMATV system.i have tried sonicview 360 Premier,but it scans only 2 satellites where as the system has about 8 satellites hooked up to the system.

Is SMATV that sollutin, where you can have more sattelite receiver connected to dish using only one cable? It must be supported by set-top box. I checked manual ---http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/download/dm500_s_c_t_manual.pdf and there was nothing about it...

It has multiple dishes connected to the smatv system,which also connects to multiple receivers.

There may be multiple dishes installed in the system but that does not mean you can access them all at the same time, The system could have been configured for you to recieve only a selection of channels or packages from each satellite installed.

You would be better contacting the people who own the system and ask which packages they have the rights to show on there SMATV system.

The guy told me that all satellites are hooked up to my room he says i need a humax because the frequencies of the satellite are converted to a lower frequency i tried a sonicview reciever and was able to get two satellites.its something about the frequencies.

Could you expand on the decription of your setup?

8 fixed satellites equals 32 feeds (4 from each LNB)

I have posted a picture of the system.Hope someone has some solution because humax is also a satellite receiver like sonicview,how come it works with humax and not sonicview?

Sorry i said 8 satellites but it is 16 satellites and 1 terrestrial tv output.

@Cannon,

what you have there is a four satellite multiplexer.

Each Satellite has four feeds coming from it (quad LNB) for the four frequency bands that cary the satellite frequencys High Horizontal, High Vertical, Low Horizontal and Low Vertical.

This then goes into your comunal distribution system which is from the look of it just bellow. This agregates all the sat frequency down one cable to each user giving them access to the 4 sats and the 4 bands on eack sat.

It would be my understanding that any sat reciever would work using DisecQ AA, AB, BA & BB.

I tried that it does not get all satellites,the cable guy says that i dont have the correct frequencies in my receiver to scan the smatv system.he says that its frequencies are lower than the ones normally used for satellites.
