new to dreambox .do i need a software loader to input c lines into dream box
and if so which one thanks

You don't need a "softwear loader". Let's start with the begining :

1. Do you have a custom image with cccam server on it (did you ever flashed an image in your dreambox)

2. If you did 1. then all you have to do is to edit your cccam config using FTP for example.

3. Your config is on following path /var/etc/cccam.cfg

Ok but take care about the timebomb if is a clone, that can destroy your your reciver.

If you have a clone look for firmwares with timebomb removed

there are a few different programs to use on your pc to access the dream box. I use dream control centre which is easy enough to navigate. you can use this to access your cccam config file and add your cline.

I use FireFTP addion of firefox browser to acces my 500 via ftp. it is a free ftp additin for firefox and very easy to use.
