This has been explained before the reason for the freezes is not due to the line it is due to the encryption and NDS is one of the harder encryptions to remain stable with a heavy user base. You need a very good server for this type of encryption to remain freeze and glitch free.

if you getting chns on 13e wihh free lines you should get chns or at least some on 19e, them sats quite heavely used try some others, you might need to change your line now as they get updated regular, 4/5pm every day. not to familiar with your make an model but there should be somekind of info bar if you look.

im having trouble wih server 3
i installed it with hotbird and it was working fine so
then i install astra 2 but this time its not showing.
what im i doing wrong

You can't install a server, if you put the correct details in and it shows "connected" then it means that the part from the server is done. Do you have satellite signal on astra 2? If you do and FTA channels work, then it is just the server 3 hasn't got any good cards for the packages on that satellite.

U have to bear in mind that some packages clear quicker than others. Some are also more stable than others. Astra 2 isn't always stable and has lots of freezes.

a good thing also to try is update your line just after new update, keep watching, updates between 4pm/5pm hope this helps.

Ok, I have updated that too now, let me give it a day of testing to see how it reacts.

Nope, its definately just the server quality. The better the server, the less if any freezing.

The patching was done for me by a satellite man before I got involved with all this so Im not sure. Is there any specific way to check, or should I just go ahead and do it?

you can test your internet speed/server buy doing a ping test type Type Type ping -t server address in command prompt and it lists the times ctrl and c to stop it

I agree with what you say, what I meant however was that an external website server I have been testing during the last 2 days changes the port number daily hence why it is a instant connection without waiting time in terms of connecting to the c line and doesnt freeze box at all. On satlover.com though the server 3 takes a while to connect and when it does, it freezes the box frequently as well as never showing a channel smoothly for more than a minute. Other servers from other sites have very solid connections but still dont display a smooth channel for more than about 3 minute max. So I assumed it was my internet speeds since no server iv tried works properly for even a few minutes hence why I enquired about it here. Tbh, the only purpose of any free server is just for testing a c line I think with the intention of buying a premium one.

Actually, the reverse is true

The port number changing almost daily should make server3 better. It gets changed regularly because the free c-lines tend to get copy/pasted onto other forums and then the server gets overloaded.

By changing the port number, it invalidates those c-lines, and keeps them available for regular users of this forum.

In any case, a wrong port number in your config shouldn't cause your box to freeze

After further testing I seem to have found the reason why the TM5402HD box is crashing continously with the server 3 of a few days ago. It is simply the server... Since the server 3 here has been down I have been experimenting with servers from other sites and not once has it froze. Also the time to connect to the server is instant as opposed to the server 3 here. I suppose however that is due to them constantly updating the port number on a daily basis.

I had a go with what you said by changing the c line to one in the hidden post and now it does not crash as much, only infrequently when changing channel. It must be just a bug in the patches or just what you said, the server stability. Im sure that its simply a bug in the technomate modded firmware.
