C line question with regards to softcams/keys...

Im new and Im not sure if this is the correct place to post this topic but I couldnt find anywhere else...I want to ask, when you activate any given c line onto your system, does it overwrite or affect any softcams and keys you have already loaded? Or does it work completely separately to this, even though they will open the same packages?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Your c-line is defined in a config file, e.g. if using CCcam, in CCcam.cfg.

Keys are stored elsewhere, so they cannot overwrite each other.

I believe if they open the same channel, the keys take precedence.

Re: C line question with regards to softcams/keys...

On the TM 5402HD box I was just testing to see if the keys take priority over the c line and it seems that is not the case for me. I had a channel live on bulsat and deactivated the c line to see what would happen. It then said scrambled channel and only when I switched to another channel and back again did the keys take over. I testing it around 5 times to be sure but its definately the c line which overides the Softcam keys on the techomate.

I don't think so, not having any priority specified it will try to use C line and of course if the Cline is not working well you are unable to decrypt. Very simple

Yes, read what I wrote carefully. The C line "overrides" the soft cam keys, this is critical, today I had a c line active without my realising, and because of this I was watching a football match for the first time on a C line( I never could due to server instability) but then it froze and I became confused since softcam keys dont freeze...Then I realised and did further testing and came to the conlusion that the C line takes first priority over the softcam. This statement though is only limited to my testing on a TECHNOMATE 5402HD.

I always understood that the keys should take priority.

What channel were you watching (Diema?)?

Re: C line question with regards to softcams/keys...

Yes, it at the time it was Diema, then followed by nova sport all on hellas sat. I noticed what I mentioned earlier and then tried disconnecting the C line continously, and this led to the channel cutting completely and not returning. Then, leaving the c line disconnected, I refreshed the scrambled channel and it became decrypted by keys, and I know this for sure because I can tell when its being descrambled by keys...

Do you know a way on the technomate where I can edit to give first priority to keys since mine doesnt seem to have that at the moment?

              Thanks

I don't think cccam can open Hellas with keys (you need to use mgcamd). Do you have mgcamd?

On my TM receiver, I have a patched mgcamd that is supposed to open it, but it does not. If I want to watch Diema, I use Fausto.

I explained the steps in a previous thread

Fausto runs as a server on a computer, you connect your receiver to it via the local network (a C line) and the channels decode easily.

I've just wanted to confirm that, bytheway you can resolve this problem very easy, is not need to have any priority functions.

Think a little you have vplug and hadu for example, vplug decodes prog1 with CAID ***X and also hadu, but you have a por hadu C line and you encounter freezes. To avoid this just enable both plugins and for C line use a filter no { 0:0:3, ***X:000000 }.

Filtering C line you will never get provider ***X from C line and the only one that will decode ***X will be vplug

Re: C line question with regards to softcams/keys...

                    Tonybod,
Thanks for your quick reply, sorry I took long to answer I was not home all day. Before I discovered that C lines and servers even existed, the way that I was unlocking channels was via USB loading the softcam keys into the TM reciever and getting Bulsat. I can confirm 100% that bulsat is unlockable by keys on the TM5402HD.

Beyond that, since Iv just started understanding slightly how these servers and C lines actually work im not familiar with what a mgcamd even is. On my technomate, already installed when bought from a retailer is a menu called IP where you can insert a CCCAM and a NEWCAMD. Iv never done anything to the receiver other than patch it with a phantompatch and update the bulsat keys from this website here which you probably know quite well: http://download.for-better.biz/bbs/main.php

Again, I have no idea what Fausto is at the moment, Im researching into these terms so I can become familiar and understand, but I would have no idea how to go about using my laptop to work with the TM reciever, and Im not sure if its even possible with the TM I have since everything is preinstalled... If its possible, let me know how because it something interesting to work on.

                    Thanks
                    Odysseas

Re: C line question with regards to softcams/keys...

                      uttnls,

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately Im not very familiar with any of the terms you used, if you read the above post you might understand why. Im going to see if its possible for my receiver to be compatible with these sort of edits and then practise to learn. But one point you picked up on, my whole box freezes on certain occasions depending on the stability of the server or if the box RAM is overloaded. I think its a box related issue but it only crashes when the C line is live.

                      Thanks
                      Odysseas

the support seems to be better on this box vs the linux models loads of updates already im sure if its a bug there working on it

Today something interesting happened, it kept freezing instantly when connecting to the server, it would not let you use the box at all so I had to disconnect the Ethernet to be able to use the box. This was happening around the same time the server was experiencing problems, so its not coincidental, the bug that you are suggesting must be true, since the bug is triggered via a connection through the cccam.
