PVR recording M3U stream

Okay, please dont flame me because I did use the search button first. I am looking for a PVR solution that will record an M3U stream before I code my own. No sense in reinventing the wheel.

i believe that vlc player can do it
i don't have vlc installed so can't confirm it

Yes:
You have to go to media menu and choose convert/save.
Then select network, write the adress and confirm convert/save in the dialog box.
Finally you have to create destination file and path and select the lower option (not convert).
Don't know what's written there in international version, in my italian version it's: "Estrai ingresso grezzo"
