Is there a way to select english language when watching a DE Sky Select movie for example. The english audio stream should be there somewhere. Selecting English as custom language in settings does not work for this.

That's what you say, but how do you know it?
First of all analize the stream, for example watching it on a pc with vlc, so you will know if english audio is there.

If the Movie was originally made in English, then sometimes it is available, but not always.
A lot of Tv broadcasters will disable it, because of region restrictions.

I think that's not the problem.
japseye is probably talking about some IPTV server and the stream there is different from the original one, coming from TV broadcaster.
Usually second audio is removed there, so he will be able only to listen in german.

Know absolutely nothing about IPTV, and have no experience with it. Something for me to
learn over the next few months.

As far I know there isn't dual audio for iptv channels yet. Maybe in future, who knows?

Exactly: not so much bandwith, really, but they try to reduce it as much as possible, both for themselves and for users: a lot of ADSL haven't a very good band.

                  Re: Language

Some IPTV providers do have selectable audio options if it is given in the stream itself but as stated more often than not your stuck with the original country's language.

To the OP good username by the way LOL
